Tyler the Creator, Worst to Best

Goblin (75): Like many of you this was my introduction to Tyler. The subject matter is truly insane. But yeah I do like some of these songs. The first song is really out there. The last song “Golden”, is so funny man. Overall tho I don’t like this album that much. The successor Wolf did so much better. Top Tracks: Golden, She, Yonkers, Golden.

Wolf (85): This was when I started to kinda like Tyler’s music. Sure the subject matter is still kinda crazy but it’s a little toned down here. These songs kinda bleed into each other for me….I really like “Treehome95” with Erykah Badu….and “Tamale”; Definite highlights. TT: Jamba, Domo23, Tamale, Treehome95, Cowboy, Ifhy.

IGOR (91): Ok im not gonna lie, im not the biggest fan of IGOR. Maybe it has to do with the gay theme lol. The music is pretty damn good tho. “Earfquake” is infectious as hell. That is followed by “I Think” which is another banger. “New Magic Wand” is also great. The production was stand out here. This could go over the next album but in my opinion no. Top Tracks: A Boy is a Gun, Earfquake, I Think, New Magic Wand, Running Out of Time.

Cherry Bomb (92): I see a lot of hate for this album and I just don’t understand it. This was the album that truly made me a Tyler fan. It’s got some truly fun songs on it. Did I mention stellar production. Sure the title track is kinda bad….but that’s about it. “Deathcamp” Is a fire opener. “Find Your Wings” is so smooth. “Smuckers’ features Kanye West and Lil Wayne. Come on man this is a great album despite a few misteps.TT: Smuckers, Find Your Wings, Fucking Young/Perfect, DeathCamp.

Chromokopia (95): This album and the next two are technically tied but it just comes down to preference. This is a great album…and it might be Tyler’s most personal yet. I really like the first 3 songs a lot. Then there’s “Sticky” which is a great collaboration track that features Lil Wayne, GloRilla, and Sexyy Red. “Balloon” with Doechii is awesome too. Top Tracks: Noid, Rah Nah Tah, Sticky, Balloon, Thought I Was Dead.

Call Me if You Get Lost (95): It was a really close call for the best Tyler album….but coming in at the 2ndspot is this. Arguably Tyler’s best rapping performances are here. “Lemonhead” is fire, as is “Hot Wind Blows”. The latter features Lil Wayne. I really like “Run it Up” too. The production is again stellar. “Sweet/I Thought You Wanted to Dance” is an amazing track. Such a great album. Top Tracks: Lemonhead, Hot Wind Blows, Sweet/I Thought You Wanted to Dance, Juggernaut, Runitup.

Flower Boy (95): Scum Fuck Flower Boy as it was originally called is the best album from Tyler. “See You Again” featuring Kali Uchis might seriously be his best song. There’s other highlights too like “Who Dat Boy” and “Pothole”. It just feels like every song for the most part is good. This album really put Cherry Bomb to shame when it came out. The rapping and production is really dope. TT: Where This Flower Blooms, See You Again, Who Dat Boy, Pothole,I Aint Got Time, November.

Doja Cat Albums Worst to Best

Doja Cat has been one of my favorite rapper/singers of the past few years. Let's see which albums are the best from her. 5) Amala (88)- Doja’s first album is honestly pretty damn good. You can tell she was still refining her sound tho on this. The last 3 songs “Juicy”, “Tia Tamera”, and “Mooo” are so good. “Candy” is another banger. The album is really well balanced being pretty much good in all areas but not really great in any tho. Favorite Track: Mooo. 4) Scarlet (90)- Believe it or not, this was an album I was on the fence about getting. I’m glad I got it. This is a rap heavy album but there’s still plenty of singing here and there. “Demons” and “F**k the GIrls” are Doja at her roughest. “Attention” was a great single. “Agora Hills” is a nice cute track. The monster single “Paint the Town Red” is the best track however. This album wa a big departure for her, but for the most part it paid off. Fav. Track Paint the Town Red. 3) Vie (92)- This was Doja returning to her pop roots,...

Video Game Review: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

I happened to beat this game recently for the first time in I was just in awe at how epic this game is. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a sequel to Final Fantasy 7 Remake (which I played on the ps4). This game was a ps5 exclusive however. I know I needed a ps5 if I was gonna play it. And last year I made that happen. This is a continuation of the story of Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, and Barrett as they fight against the Shinra Corporation and the evil Sephiroth. I'll try not spoil much. When the game starts you play as Zack who is a solider like Cloud. You saw Zack at the end of Remake. Basically story wise there is another dimension in this game and you play as Zach in it here and there. There is a relationship meter that the main character Cloud has with every party member….answering certain questions one way or another will change the relationship. I found this to be a cool touch that the first game barely had any resemblance of. The game's graphics are outstanding and characters look ...

Album Review: Doja Cat-Vie

The much anticipated latest Doja Cat album! I was very curious to see where she'd go after the dark rap heavy Scarlet. The path she took was a 80s sounding pop album. It took a few listens for the album to click with me but yeah its awesome. Doja is in her zone here on this album. She sings a lot and acts as her own featured rap artist which is interesting. The first 3 songs are pretty strong. "Cards" is sultry. I love "Jealous Type" too (the lead single). "AAAH MEN!" might be my favorite song however. The production is great but maybe not the best she's ever had. I liked most every song. "Silly!Fun!" and "Come Back" are also excellent. As far as features go there's only SZA on " Take Me Dancing". So basically we have a very strong album here...but maybe not quite as good as Planet Her but it’s very close. Maybe I'll do a Doja Cat album ranking in the near future. She's been one of my favorite artists sin...
