Video Game Review: Super Mario Galaxy 2

I recently beat this Super Mario game. I have beaten the first Super Mario Galaxy game too. I gotta admit this might have been a better game. The two games are similar but the way you go stage to stage is very much more linear here. You basically travel with a chubby Luma named Lubba as you travel on a Mario head shaped spaceship.

The plot is kinda of a retelling of the first game. You are trying to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser. There are a lot of returning elements from Galaxy one like Launch stars which can take you to a completely new planetoid in many cases. There are a lot of returning enemies from Galaxy one as well like Goombas, those little things that spit rocks at you, boo ghosts, bullet bills, Chomps, and hammer bros.

Some of the boss fights were really creative. There was a big creature that was only vulnerable from underneath so it constantly forced you to go to one of the openings of the arena and ground pound it from below. The Bowser fights were considerably different too. You basically had to ground pound a circular rock and launch it at Bowser which sounds tough but it wasn't too bad....

The power ups in this game were great. There's Cloud Mario which enables you to create up to 3 platforms to jump off of. Of course if you take damage or touch water you lose the power up. Boo Mario was dope too. Bee Mario was rarely used but I liked that one. The Rock Mario was maybe my favorite. There are some stages that really take advantage of it. The drill power up was ok. Of course one of the big things was Yoshi's inclusion. Yoshi is controlled with motion controls which takes getting used to. The final level really puts your Yoshi skills to the test.

Overall this was a really fun but challenging game. I kinda preferred Mario Galaxy one's format for unlocking levels a little more but then again I got way more stars in this game than I did in that one. This is one of Mario's greatest games!

Verdict 9.7

Doja Cat Albums Worst to Best

Doja Cat has been one of my favorite rapper/singers of the past few years. Let's see which albums are the best from her. 5) Amala (88)- Doja’s first album is honestly pretty damn good. You can tell she was still refining her sound tho on this. The last 3 songs “Juicy”, “Tia Tamera”, and “Mooo” are so good. “Candy” is another banger. The album is really well balanced being pretty much good in all areas but not really great in any tho. Favorite Track: Mooo. 4) Scarlet (90)- Believe it or not, this was an album I was on the fence about getting. I’m glad I got it. This is a rap heavy album but there’s still plenty of singing here and there. “Demons” and “F**k the GIrls” are Doja at her roughest. “Attention” was a great single. “Agora Hills” is a nice cute track. The monster single “Paint the Town Red” is the best track however. This album wa a big departure for her, but for the most part it paid off. Fav. Track Paint the Town Red. 3) Vie (92)- This was Doja returning to her pop roots,...

Video Game Review: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

I happened to beat this game recently for the first time in I was just in awe at how epic this game is. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a sequel to Final Fantasy 7 Remake (which I played on the ps4). This game was a ps5 exclusive however. I know I needed a ps5 if I was gonna play it. And last year I made that happen. This is a continuation of the story of Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, and Barrett as they fight against the Shinra Corporation and the evil Sephiroth. I'll try not spoil much. When the game starts you play as Zack who is a solider like Cloud. You saw Zack at the end of Remake. Basically story wise there is another dimension in this game and you play as Zach in it here and there. There is a relationship meter that the main character Cloud has with every party member….answering certain questions one way or another will change the relationship. I found this to be a cool touch that the first game barely had any resemblance of. The game's graphics are outstanding and characters look ...

Album Review: Doja Cat-Vie

The much anticipated latest Doja Cat album! I was very curious to see where she'd go after the dark rap heavy Scarlet. The path she took was a 80s sounding pop album. It took a few listens for the album to click with me but yeah its awesome. Doja is in her zone here on this album. She sings a lot and acts as her own featured rap artist which is interesting. The first 3 songs are pretty strong. "Cards" is sultry. I love "Jealous Type" too (the lead single). "AAAH MEN!" might be my favorite song however. The production is great but maybe not the best she's ever had. I liked most every song. "Silly!Fun!" and "Come Back" are also excellent. As far as features go there's only SZA on " Take Me Dancing". So basically we have a very strong album here...but maybe not quite as good as Planet Her but it’s very close. Maybe I'll do a Doja Cat album ranking in the near future. She's been one of my favorite artists sin...
