Album Review: Tinashe-Joyride

Tinashe's 3rd album is her best so far...barely. Its really short but I liked almost every song. Her singing and the lyrics are elegant as usual. The production is dope too. The album gets off to a really strong start with the Title track and "No Drama". The latter features Offset of Migos. "Me So Bad" is a lot of fun as is "Stuck With Me". The replayability or Tilt of the album isn't its strong suit. Alot of these songs could go on previous Tinashe albums with ease. Lyrics: 23 Beats: 23 Depth: 23  Tilt: 22  Verdict: 91

My Thoughts- 2019 (part 2)

Welcome to another My Thoughts. This time I'll be talking about what's been going on in this world or just giving you my opinions on some things. Music wise I honestly haven't been all that impressed with the offerings from my artists this year. Sure albums from Rick Ross, Jeezy, and Nas were good; but none were really stellar. The new Common album is pretty good. I wasn't really feeling the Schoolboy Q album much. Shocking, I know. Despite this I got a lot of music reviews to get to. And I plan to keep them coming. Bear with me y'all. Politics wise I am so goddamn sick of Donald Trump I don't know what more I can really say about him. Just impeach the bastard already. He's got our country going down the toilet. On a positive side I've been following the Democratic Debates. I'm really feeling Kamala Harris and Amy Klobuchar. I'm not a big fan of Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders. I love impersonating Bernie tho. Whoever gets the nomination better ...

Album Review: Rick Ross-Port of Miami 2

Port of Miami 2 is a sequel to 2006's Port of Miami, his first album. It's a decent album but there's not really any correlation to its predecessor. It just sounds like another Rick Ross album. The lyrics are good tho and the beats are lush. "Turnpike Ike" is pretty hot, as is "Nobody's Favorite". The latter might be the best track on the album.  Another stand out is "Rich N***a Lifestyle" which features the late Nipsey Hustle. "Maybach Music VI" is decent and features John Legend and Lil Wayne. Overall the album is good but not quite as good as Rather You Than Me. Lyrics:22 Beats: 23 Depth: 23 Tilt: 21 Verdict: 89

Video Game Blog: Horizon Zero Dawn Review

After over 2 years I finally beat Horizon Zero Dawn. It was quite the accomplishment as the game is long. I didn't even do a lot of side quests. I'll try not to give away too much of the story but I'll have to give you some. HZD takes place in the future where the world is ruled by animalistic machines and the people live in tribes mostly. You play as Alloy a young woman of the Nora tribe. Alloy starts as an outsider but eventually becomes "The Anointed" amongst her people. You set off on an adventure to figure out why the world is the way it is. Alloy can run, jump, swim, and also...hide. A lot of fights in Horizon can be avoided by hiding in this tall red grass that's pretty prevalent in the game. Sometimes tho, you'll have to fight. Alloy has a wide assortment of bows and arrows at her disposal. She also has a spear for close quarters combat. There are other weapons too like a sling shot and mini gun, but I found the bows and spear most effective....

My Thoughts: Tyler the Creator

I'm a Tyler the Creator fan but I cannot say I always was. When I first heard of him in 2011 I was like who the heck is this guy and why is his music so damn violent. I downloaded Goblin and didn't like most of it. I did like the song "Yonkers" however. It was clear to me that Tyler had some lyrical skill but I wasn't a fan...yet. Then came his 2013 album, Wolf. Wolf seemed like more of the same but it wasn't quite as hardcore and it had more bangers on it like "Tamale" and "Domo23". The album's theme was fairly easy to get to. I found Wolf just more enjoyable than Goblin. Then came 2015's Cherry Bomb album. Cherry Bomb was so smooth and exciting. It was such a different sound. It made me a Tyler fan. Songs like "Smuckers", "Death Camp", and "Find Your Wings" were a breath of fresh air. Apparently he was influenced by Pharrell Williams. Then 2 years later we got Flower Boy, which was just amaz...

Video Game Review: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild

I finally was able to beat this stellar Zelda game not too long ago. The game is very challenging yet oh so satisfying when you overcome powerful enemies. The game looked great. There was so much variety in the environments. Unfortunately there's not much variation in the music. You usually just here a minimalist piano track as you travel. I recommend you tackle as many shrines as possible. The puzzles aren't typically too tough but there were a few I had to look online to solve. They are some very creative puzzles to solve. Some puzzles simply test your strength by making you fight a robotic enemy. Speaking of enemies, this game doesn't have a lot but there are stronger/different versions of them. Of all of them perhaps Guardians and Lynels are to be the most feared. The latter feels like boss battles. Guardians can shoot you to death with lasers but with Ancient arrows you can make short work of them. Of course when you beat an enemy you can take their weapons and...

Album Review: Megan Thee Stallion-Fever

Megan Thee Stallion tries to stand out in a rap world dominated by the likes of Cardi B and Nicki Minaj. I like her delivery and flow. She is very much a dirty south rapper. The album has pretty much basic subject matter that you might expect from a female MC. There's "Sex Talk" which is really hot. "Pimpin" is similar to that but more in your face. Megan's delivery and flow is definitely this album's strong point. "Dance" is one of the many bangers here. The beats aren't bad but I've heard better. I was a little apprehensive to give her a try but this quality rap music. Lyrics: 23 Beats: 21 Depth: 23 Tilt: 22 Verdict: 89
